That question I have come to dread came across the whisper channel - "You have a warrior right?"
The guild needed a tank for Kara for interrupts on Shade. <sigh> To DPS and work on Bittercrud with many pleading for a heroic run or to blow the dust off Sweetcake and fumigate the mothball scent out of her armor a little.
"Yup - prot war - I'll be on her in a little bit."
After much patience (OMEN wasn't loaded and I discovered BigWigs REALLY hates it if you try to run DBM along side it and my dinosaur of a computer takes forever just tabbing between WoW and Vent) it finally kicked off with me as MT - until it was discovered I was critable. ><
About one maybe two months ago now I was hacked via keylogger piggy backed on an OMEN update (pre-2.4 so nothing to worry about now). I caught it quickly and managed to get a GM to restore the majority of the gear I'd lost, the stuff looted from the guild bank, and some of my hard earned gold.
What I forgot to look at before saying 'sure I can MT Kara, done it lots' was Sweetcake's post hack gear - both equipped and in her bags.
When a GM does a restore, you're not guarenteed that enchants, armor kits, gems, or anything of the sort will be the same as you had. Luckily, her gear had all the armor kits, enchants, and gems in them - just not the tanking gems I had placed. The insult of only having one piece of DPS gear returned made the emotional scars of being hacked itch a little bit.
Regardless, Sol moved up to MT and did a wonderful job of it. I was OT and despite it being over six months since I tanked ANYTHING I don't think I did too bad. And on top of it all Sweetcake walked away with an upgrade ^^.
Maybe she'll see the light of day more often... |
